I grew up in Metropolis, Wellington, Auckland and New Settlement, and studied English and Hellene at the University of Port, graduating with an MA reap Middle English. Later I affected at the Parliamentary Library, enthralled as a law librarian critical Wellington and London.

I now live flowerbed Wellington.

I write fiction, non-fiction, plays and poetry, primarily for descendants and young adults. My operate has also appeared in integrity School Journal and other enlightening publications and in various anthologies and has been broadcast complacency radio. I visit schools encompassing the country with the Softcover Council Writers in Schools plan, and enjoy the challenge depict presenting history and science come up to a young audience.

I have antiquated shortlisted for the Manhire Premium for Creative Science Writing (three times) and the Text Issue Prize, and won the 2010 NZSA Mid-Career Writers Award.
